About the Artist
There is no bigger passion in life for me than art. I'm fascinated by every aspect of art. I'm that person that would spend hours in art galleries. I'm that person that would look at different paintings following each brush stroke and exploring the colors. My dream has been to go from an art fan to an artist.
I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Since I was a child I preferred working with watercolors because of the lightness and transparency of the paints. I took several studio classes in my childhood but mainly I learned on my own. Recently I moved to the Boston area and I found myself in a completely different environment. My relocation gave me a boost and artistic inspiration for trying new techniques and exploring new themes. I enrolled in studio classes at Kaji Aso Studio - Institute for the Arts and at the Museum of Fine Arts. That training gave me confidence to explore other mediums like oils and acrylic paints. Later I also tried pencil and graphite which I also like a lot. I love working with different mediums and switching between them gives my brain extra training. When I see an object I would like to paint I can now instantly imagine which medium will work best.
I turned to the Feng Shui theory as a tool to balance my life and it has helped me adapt to a new environment. I started studying its basic principles which I instill in my work and my normal day to day activities. Feng Shui principles are very helpful so I use them when I paint in order to produce a positive atmosphere and bright energy for myself and those who view my works. Painting allows me to create a world outside of reality and because of that I'm able to find peace and exhilaration.
Within the last two years I have participated in several art shows including juried exhibitions in Boston, MA. I am working on completing my portfolio with art works in various techniques and mediums which I later hope to showcase in a solo exhibition. In the year 2012 I joined the Newton Art Association.
